Disabled Access Facilities

In 2018 Basingstoke Town Bowling Club made the decision to improve our club by making it more inclusive and accessible to a new sector of the community.

With the help of a grant from Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council’s Local Infrastructure Fund, the club has developed facilities to enable those with a variety of disabilities, including wheelchair users, to access our green. Items of specialist equipment are also available.

The builders started in October 2019 and by the beginning of the 2020 season the clubhouse, changing rooms and green were accessible via ramps and there is a dedicated disabled access toilet within the clubhouse. This will also improve the facility for existing members in terms of health and safety.

We annually host members of Deaf Bowls England who hold their competition between clubs from across the south in August. We have also hosted national competitions for the Visually Impaired. We hope to host more of these events in the future. Spectators are always welcome at these events.

There are two disabled parking bays outside the club and disabled parking bays in the Carnival Hall car park opposite the green.

You will always find a welcome at ‘The Town’.
