About Us

Facilities

The green was originally built as 4 rinks but later increased to the six rinks we see today.  It is maintained by a combination of professional contractors and competent club members.

The main clubhouse provides a range of facilities including a well stocked bar, a fully fitted kitchen and a full sized skittle alley.  Facilities have been adapted to be fully inclusive for all club and social members.  Occasionally the alley is loaned out to other local organizations.

‚ÄčMatch Days

The playing season runs from late April to the end of September. League matches are played Monday evening (Men's Triples), Tuesday evening (Ladies Triples), Wednesday evening (Mixed Triples), Thursday afternoon (Mixed Triples) and Friday evening (Men's Rinks).
Thursday evening are Club Nights and we welcome members of the community who would like to come along and have a go at bowling.
There are opportunities to enter area, County or national competitions.
Friendly matches, both home and away, against other clubs are arranged throughout the season and all members are encouraged to play. These matches usually take place at weekends.
During the winter months we also enter teams in two local indoor competitions.

Social Activities

During the winter months the Club remains active. One night a week is skittles night where club members play in the local skittles league.

Throughout the winter, there are social events including Quiz Nights, Bingo and Games Nights.  Halloween and Christmas parties are also held.

The club also organises tours both in the UK and abroad.

Annual Subscriptions

Full Members £55, New Members £20, Junior & Social Members £15. New bowlers have the use of club bowls in the early stages. New and second-hand bowls can be purchased locally and on-line.

Dress Code

Grey below the waist with a club shirt or plain white shirt/blouse are the norm. Shorts for men and ladies are acceptable also cropped trousers for ladies. For friendly matches and some competitions white below the waist and club shirts are worn. Flat shoes are required on the green at all times.

In 2023 we are hoping to change to navy trousers/shorts.
