Basingstoke Town Bowling Club

There are lots of events going on at the club throughout August and September. There are sheets in the changing rooms for the Day Competitions and Friendlies. These are always enjoyable events so please support Tina and Steve and sign up to as many as you can.

Other Events

Sunday 7th August 2.30pm it’s 👧👱‍♀️👩‍💼 Ladies’ Day 👩‍🦳👸👵 - men can play as well!
Saturday 20th August 2.30pm President v Captain’s Day.
Ladies’ Day and President v Captain will be followed by a light tea / buffet.

We are delighted that Matt, Richard B and Trevor have won their way through to the National Triples at Leamington on 25th August and Matt, having won the Area Final of the National Champion of Champions, is now through to the last 32. Great results all of you and 🤞🤞 for the next rounds.

The Men’s County 16s had to be cancelled yesterday but will be played on Thursday 4th August. Following a close game in the Thornbery on Thursday Cove ladies narrowly came out on top. However, the Gazette Cup was played at Hook this evening and the ladies had a resounding win – Hook conceding after 11 ends. The semi-final and final will be played at Howard Park on Saturday 6th August.

Don’t forget to keep an eye on closing dates for Club Competitions.

It is with sadness that we report the death last Friday of Barry Lee from Oakley BC. Many of you will have played against Barry over the years and enjoyed his sunny and fun disposition. Our thoughts are with Margaret and the family at this sad time.
