About Us

The green was originally built as 4 rinks but later increased to the six rinks we see today.  It is maintained by a combination of professional contractors and competent club members.

The main clubhouse provides a range of facilities including a well stocked licensed bar, a fully fitted kitchen and a full sized wooden skittle alley.  Facilities are available to all club and social members.  Occasionally the alley is loaned out to other local organizations.

We have recently replaced our changing facilities with a log cabin type building, providing separate male and female changing rooms and a small central administrative area.

Match Days

The playing season runs from late April to the end of September. League matches are played Monday evenings (Men's Triples), Tuesday evenings (Ladies Triples), Wednesday evenings (Mixed Triples), Thursday afternoons (Over 55's Mixed Triples) and Friday evenings (Men's Rinks).

Friendly matches, both home and away, against other clubs are arranged throughout the season and all members are encouraged to play. These matches usually take place at weekends, culminating with a meal.

Between October and April, the Club plays a number of indoor friendlies against local indoor bowling clubs and also enters teams in two local indoor competitions.

Social Activities

During the winter months the Club remains active. One night a week is skittles night where club members play in the local skittles league.

Friday evenings are our winter games nights with darts, cards and board games. These evenings offer a social evening and a good chance to get to know new members.

Throughout the winter, social evenings, quiz nights, Halloween parties and a Christmas party are held. These usually take place on a Saturday night about once a month.

Whenever the Club is open, summer or winter, our extensively stocked bar will also be open. Tea and coffee facilities are always available.
