About Us

Facilities

The green was originally built as 4 rinks but later increased to the six rinks we see today.  It is maintained by a combination of professional contractors and competent club members.

The main clubhouse provides a range of facilities including a well stocked bar, a fully fitted kitchen and a full sized skittle alley.  Facilities have been adapted to be fully inclusive for all club and social members.  Occasionally the alley is loaned out to other local organizations.

Match Days

The playing season runs from late April to the end of September. League matches are played Monday evenings (Men's Triples), Tuesday evenings (Ladies Triples), Wednesday evenings (Mixed Triples) and Friday evenings (Men's Rinks).
Thursday evening are Club Nights and we welcome members of the community who would like to come along and have a go at bowling.
There are opportunities to enter area, County or national competitions.
Friendly matches, both home and away, against other clubs are arranged throughout the season and all members are encouraged to play. These matches usually take place at weekends, followed by a meal.
During the winter months we also enter teams in two local indoor competitions.

Social Activities

During the winter months the Club remains active. One night a week is skittles night where club members play in the local skittles league.

Friday evenings are our winter games nights with darts, cards and board games. These evenings offer a social evening and a good chance to get to know new members.

Throughout the winter, social evenings including quiz nights, Halloween and Christmas parties are held.

Whenever the Club is open, summer or winter, our bar will also be open. Tea and coffee facilities are always available.

The club also organises tours both in the UK and abroad.

Annual subscriptions are: Full Members £55, New Members £20, Junior & Social Members £15. New bowlers have the use of club bowls in the early stages. New and second-hand bowls can be purchased locally and on-line.

Grey trousers for men and grey trousers or skirts for women with a club shirt or plain white shirt/blouse are the norm. For friendly matches and some competitions white trousers/skirts and club shirts are worn. Flat shoes are required on the green at all times.
